NEW DELHI: Polis India bertindak menutup sebuah hospital swasta dan mendakwa kakitangannya dengan tuduhan membunuh selepas seorang bayi mati dibaham anjing liar di dalam dewan bedah, kata seorang penyiasat.
Bayi malang itu diserang beberapa ekor anjing yang masuk ke dalam hospital melalui tingkap.
Kejadian ngeri di daerah Farrukhabad, kira-kira 180 kilometer dari ibu kota Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow itu disedari ahli keluarga mangsa selepas terdengar bunyi bising salakan anjing di bilik berkenaan.
“Keluarga mendakwa bayi itu ditinggalkan di dalam dewan bedah dengan tingkap terbuka menyebabkan serangan itu berlaku.
“Kami sedang menunggu laporan bedah siasat sebelum tangkapan boleh dibuat berhubung kematian ini,” kata pegawai penyiasat, Ved Prakash Panday.
Sementara itu, keluarga bayi malang terbabit memberitahu pihak berkuasa bahawa pegawai di Hospital Akash Ganga menawarkan wang tunai bagi merahsiakan kejadian tersebut.
Pihak berkuasa berkata, hospital itu tidak mempunyai lesen dan berdepan penalti kerana beroperasi secara haram. - AFP
